After reading nick's blog, I knew that his score was lower than he expected, too. In my opinion, it is taken for granted that my score was lower because I didn't work hard. But he was not me. He made many efforts to review this lesson. It's unfair. But it's fair, too. It proofs a principle that I knew long long ago but never paid attention: if you make efforts, you will not always get enough; but if you don't, you will get nothing.
The semester was over. The whole year of postgraduate was over. It's time to have a summary now.
Gain first:
- English. With Roy's help, I finally realized the charm of English. It's the first time I learned English seriously. It's the first time I felt interested in learning English. I understand this real world indeed through English and I find that Chinese world is just only a corner of the whole world. The sky outside is so huge. That makes me extremely excited and happy. Although my English is not perfect now, but like the reform and open of China, the big door has been opened and will never close again.
- Capture of information. Also with Roy's help, I knew how to use Google, Gmail, Reader and so on. Maybe you will say it's just amusement. No, not exactly. There are lots of wisdom in these things, which bring big convenient to us and could enlighten our future career, too. It's worthy to pay attention.
- Mathematics. Now, I finally understand that math, especially linear algebra, are very useful. But what a pity that I didn't realize it before. Math makes me observe this world reasonably, and find out both discipline and solution. It's a quality required as a postgraduate. Come on, Tony!
- Society. Thank for Roy's enlightenment again. In this year, I can tell the differences between country and regime. I'm not the guy who confused them before. In my eyes, the splendid aura of something was faded and returned to what it should be. I don't think it's a regress.
- Life. In this year, my beloved and I went together at last. That's a huge change in my life. I'm happy. I cherish this happiness and I can expect bigger happiness in the future. I believe that one who love life will get the most beautiful life eventually.
- Certification. Teradata Certification made me gain a lot this year.
Need to work hard in the future:
- Learn my major well.
- Continue to learn English well.
- Keep balance among life, study and work.
- Less amusement, more responsibility.
- Open my eyes to overlook the colorful world.
Especially, I want to thank Roy here, because he gave me so much help and enlightenment this year. Roy, Lily and all the people who helped me before, thank you very much.
